John Whitmer Books supports the mission of the John Whitmer Historical Association by
- Publishing scholarly research on the Latter Day Saint movement, with particular emphasis on Community of Christ and the Reorganization as well as early Latter Day Saint history.
- Stimulating interest, scholarly research, and publication in the field of Latter Day Saint history and especially the history of Community of Christ.
- Promoting communication among scholars of Latter Day Saint history, and providing a publication venue for lesser-known branches of the Smith/Rigdon movement.
JW Books focuses on producing peer-reviewed academic titles. Secondarily, JW Books produces popular histories that are academically sound yet accessible to general audiences.
