The 2025 Conference Was a Great Success and Enjoyed by All. President Matt Harris Shares His Post-Conference Thoughts.
Please Enjoy These Photos from the Conference!
Passing the Gavel to Matt Harris, President
We are all interested in the past. But it is nice occasionally to step back and take stock of the future. For those who went on the Brown vs. the Board of Education tour at our recent conference, we enjoyed traveling with a master teacher and went to a profoundly significant site in American history. Its significance made it a bit overwhelming. But it highlighted the depth and breadth of Matt Harris’s history background. As the gavel has been passed on to a new president, we can all look forward to what the future will bring in relation to our understanding of the past. It has been one of the greatest honors of my life to be able to serve in our organization, and I look forward to continuing to learn together in the future about the past.

JWHA Launches Patreon Page
The board of the John Whitmer Historical Association announced a new fundraising venture at the annual conference. Members and friends of the organization can now donate monthly to a Patreon account to access Patreon benefits that include early access to previous conference sessions. “Our Patreon fundraising is not in lieu of membership,” said board member Magen Edvalson, “it should be considered an outreach opportunity to younger donors who can only commit to a few dollars at a time, or members who would like to give more without committing to larger sums.” Upon evaluation, it is the board’s hope to offer more exciting incentives in the future including discounts and merchandise. You can access the page here.
