September 22, 2016Kirtland Temple Visitor’s Center Theatre, Kirtland, OhioBrian Hales, President, called the meeting to order at 6:03 PM.  There were approximately 72 members in attendance.  The agenda is Exhibit #1.On a motion by Jessie Embry, second by R. Jean Addams, the 6.3.16 minutes were approved as written.Announcements

  • Lew Weigand passed on
  • Alexander W. Doniphan Community Service Award event announcement
  • Reed Russell is the JW Books Manager working with Jill Brim from the board
  • Ron Romig received the MHA Best Biography Award and a second certificate was given to JWHA
  • Please note there is an error in your program – Friday afternoon sessions 251, 252, 253, 254 begin at 4:30 not at 4:00 as printed
  • Fall newsletter to be electronic only – we want your feedback
  • The fall journal will be mailed to you- e version will be sent out shortly
  • Please wear your name tags throughout the conference and to the banquet(s)
  • This year the tour is included in your registration fee – you have been assigned a tour group – do not switch groups
  • The Visitor Center & Grounds are smoke and pet free
  • No food or beverage allowed in the Temple
  • No restrooms in the Temple- restrooms are located in the Visitor’s Center and in the Community of Christ Church
  • Visit the Mercantile where you will find JW Books titles for sale
  • Join us for the Reunion Photo Shoot – Friday after lunch – see your program for details
  • Remember to purchase your chance to ring the Temple bell Sunday morning. Tickets are on sale $5 each until 5:30 PM Saturday at registration.  The winning ticket will be drawn and announced at the President’s Banquet, Saturday night.
  • If you are a session chair – return your packet to registration when you’ve completed your sessions
  • Some sessions will take place across the street at the Community of Christ Church in their Sanctuary – carefully cross the street.
  • Silent auction and on-line auction – both equally need your support. See your program for details
  • 2017 JWHA Annual Conference will be held in Nauvoo, Illinois, September 21 – 24
