JWHA scholarships include a cash award, a waiver of the annual conference registration fee, admission to both the awards banquet and presidential banquet at the annual conference, and a one-year membership in JWHA.
This year’s Program Committee selected two scholarship recipients for 2016. The scholarships were presented at the Awards Banquet at the 2016 JWHA annual conference held in Kirtland, Ohio, in September.
Valerie Walker serves as Community of Christ pastor and high priest in Portland, Oregon. She is a current Community of Christ Seminary student.
Katherine Gardner is a senior Prestigious Honors Scholar at Graceland University working toward triple majors in History, Spanish, and International Studies with a minor in Political Science. She has been an intern for two summers for Community of Christ Historic Sites, one summer at Nauvoo and one summer at Kirtland.
