Seeking a New JWHA Journal
Editor
The executive committee of JWHA is announcing a search for a
new editor of the John Whitmer Historical Association Journal. The
association has published the journal annually since 1981. Since that time, the
journal has established a reputation for excellent, independent scholarship in
the field of Restoration studies/Mormon studies. In particular, the journal is
known for articles on the history of the broader Latter Day Saint movement,
including (but not limited to) the history of the Reorganization and of the
Midwestern Latter Day Saint traditions.
The editor works in conjunction with one or more associate
editors, an editorial board, a copy editor, a typesetter, and the book review
editor. The editor is responsible for overseeing the entire editorial process,
from soliciting articles, to eliciting changes from authors, to delivering the
edited manuscript files to the typesetter.
Historically, the editor has served for a term of three years,
and the executive committee is hoping to renew that tradition. The position
carries with it a modest stipend.
If you would like to be considered for the position of editor of the JWHA
Journal, please send your resume/vita and a cover letter to Barbara
