2/6/08Online registration is now available for the Restoration Studies Symposium in Independence, Missouri, April 11-13, 2008. The first annual Symposium features addresses by Wallace B. Smith and Jan Shipps, along with a dozen other sessions covering topics of theology, relgious and cultural studies.
 
The deadline is approaching for submitting your paper proposals for the 2008 JWHA Annual Meeting in Voree (Burlington), Wisconsin. The conference theme is "1844-1859: A Time of Transition." See the article for more details. The proposal deadline is February 29, 2008.

5/1/07JWHA regrets to report the passing of Davis Bitton, professor emeritus of the University of Utah and prolific scholar of Mormon history, on April 13, 2007. Click here for the full obituary.
 
4/11/07JWHA's 2007 Spring Banquet was a big success, attracting more than 90 guests to hear the address of Community of Christ Apostle Susan Skoor.
 
During the banquet, JWHA President Alex Baugh also presented former Executive Secretary Norman Bernauer (1998-2004) with a special award for his many years of meritorious service to the association.
 
At the business meeting that preceded the banquet, the assembled members also approved the proposed changes in the Bylaws, which are published here with the changes indicated in bold text.
 
1/30/06At JWHA's next business meeting on March 23, 2007, the association's members will vote on changes to its bylaws. We have now posted a copy of the existing JWHA bylaws as well as a copy showing the proposed amendments. We encourage members to review these documents prior to the March business meeting.
 
These proposed changes were submitted by a special Bylaws Committee appointed by the JWHA board at their September meeting. Members of the Bylaws Committee are Jeanne Murphey (chair), Ron Romig and Mike Marquardt.
 
The business meeting will precede the 2007 Spring Banquet.
