Log House Quilt - MMFF Fund Raiser

Diane Barlow selling chances to Barbara Bernauer and Gerald Knoss for the Log House Quilt during 1999 JWHA.

This past year MMFF offered this lovely queen-size opportunity quilt at $1.00 a ticket.

The log cabin pattern quilt was created by Charlene Ward and Diane Forsythe as a fund raiser to assist with MMFF's archaeological dig activites, focusing on sites in Caldwell County, Missouri. We recently completed a three year reconniasance at the Charles C. Rich log house near Mirabile, Missouri. The 1999 dig is devoted to an exploration of a "Mormon" period home site south of the Far West Cemetery.

These digs help provide teen-aged archaeology students and local history buffs a hands-on opportunity to uncover Caldwell County history.

The drawing was held Saturday evening, 25 September 1999, during the John Whitmer Historical Association annual meeting at Lake Doniphan. The winner of the quilt was Mike Riggs, of Garnett, Kansas.

Thank to all who purchased a chance on the quilt for your interest in and support of MMFF.
