MMFF HISTORIC SITE MARKER ACTIVITIES
Click here to learn about our most recent markers: MMFF Markers A marker recognizing the contributions of Elija Abel was unveilled in Salt Lake City, Utah in September 2002. The commemoration of Hiram Page's marker was held 27 April 2002 near Excelsior Springs, Missouri. On the 14th of April 2002, MMFF participated in the placement of a marker commemorating Alexander Doniphan's homesite in Liberty, Missouri, during the Mormon period.
Having received many generous contributions to the MMFF Marker Fund, MMFF focused its attention in the year 2000 on the Independence Missouri Mormon Walking Trail, comprised of 14 bronze plaques installed in sidewalks at Mormon history locations around the city.
In recent years, MMFF has marked the following Mormon History sites:
Saluda Steamboat commemorative marker, Lexington, Missouri, 1992
William E. McClellin interpretive marker at Woodlawn Municipal Cemetery, Independence, Missouri, 1996.
Zion's Camp interpretive marker at Mound Grove Cemetery, Independence, Missouri, 1998.
John Whitmer interpretive marker at Kingston Cemetery, Kingston, Caldwell County, Missouri, in cooperation with John Whitmer Historical Association, 1999.

We hope to include other sites around Missouri as there is opportunity.
MMFF also recognizes individuals with plaques and citations who contribute to the preservation of the history of the Mormon experience along the Missouri frontier.
Some of our lectures are co-sponsored by Temple School and held in the Lecture Hall at the RLDS Temple in Independence, Missouri.
Others are held at the Independence LDS Mormon Visitors Center.
It is our privilege to learn about research projects in progress as scholars visit the area to work with the
documentary holdings of the Library-Archives of the Community of Christ.

Area Happenings of Interest and Events:
MMFF 2000 Annual Meeting
MMFF held their Annual Meeting, Tuesday evening, 5 December 2000, in the lower level of the LDS Visitors Center, Independence, Missouri. A brief annual business meeting was held to select board members and designate officers. The Board received the MMFF Historian's Annual Report. Clark V. Johnson, Professor of Church History and Doctrine at BYU and Independence Mission President Clayton were appointed ex-officio members of the Board. All members and interested friends are welcome to attend any board meetings and announced lectures.
