Please use this form to register for the annual meeting of The John Whitmer Historical Association from Thursday, September 23rd through Sunday, September 26th in Rockford, Illinois.
All sessions will be held at the Cliffbreakers Riverside Resort in Rockford, Illinois.

The conference will kick-off with our annual Sterling M. McMurrin
Lecture delivered by Linda King Newell, co-author of
Mormon Enigma: Emma Hale Smith. Entitled "Emma's Legacy:
Life after Joseph," the lecture will be followed
by an opening reception.

The Awards Committee will present JWHA's annual awards, following an
address by Mark A. Scherer, Community of Christ World Church
Historian, entitled "Beyond Nauvoo: Discovering the Reorganized Church
Story Again for the First Time."

Address by JWHA president Jeanne Murphey, entitled
"From Emma to the First Presidency: Women in Community of Christ History,"
and the passing of the gavel to incoming JWHA president John Hamer |
| Saturday Amboy Area Bus Tour |
Buses will take our tour group from the Cliffbreakers Resort to historic sites
in Amboy and around Lee County, Illinois, including the site of the 1860 conference
where Emma and Joseph Smith III affiliated with the Reorganization. Tour includes
box lunch.

rate, which is guaranteed until August 24. (When making your reservations, be sure to
request the JWHA conference rate.) The Cliffbreakers is an elegant old hotel situated
on the bluffs, high above the Rock River, five miles from downtown Rockford, Illinois.

The Cliffbreakers Resort is 74 miles from Chicago O'Hare (ORD) and 92 miles from Chicago Midway (MDW).
Shuttles are available from Chicago's O'Hare Airport or Chicago Midway Airport to
Rockford's Central Bus Terminal, from which the Cliffbreakers shuttle or a taxi
will take you to the resort. To learn more about the service, go on-line to

for the schedule and to purchase a ticket. Cost for adults is $22 one way.
The conference venue is close to several sites of historic importance to the Reorganization:
62 miles to Amboy, Illinois; 79 miles to Plano, Illinois; and 59 miles to Voree, Wisconsin.
Please type the name of each person registering in the space below. Each person must have his / her own name tag as identification for admittance into the sessions. Name tags and program materials will be in the registration packets provided upon your arrival.
