Do you like to see your name in print? Have you written something about early Church history or even later Church history? The JWHA Journal is looking for articles for forthcoming issues and would like to review your offerings. Please send three copies of your articles to Pat Spillman, Restoration Trail Foundation, 1001 W. Walnut, Independence, Missouri 64050-3562. The deadline for submissions is 1 January, but submissions will be accepted throughout the year.

A Past Issue of the Journal


Here are some Journal guidelines:

  • Items should reach us by 1 January.
  • Papers for consideration must be submitted in triplicate, typed and double-spaced throughout. Authors should be prepared to submit accepted manuscripts in IBM-Dos electronic WordPerfect or ASCII format.
  • Style is based on The Chicago Manual of Style, fourteenth edition (University of Chicago Press, 1993). References using this style should be complete and clear.
  • Photographs or other illustrations are appreciated.
  • Submissions will be reviewed by the JWHA Editorial Board for quality and appropriateness to our readers. After reviewers return evaluations to the editor, authors can expect feedback regarding their articles.
  • Copyrights for articles accepted for the Journal revert to the authors after publication, though JWHA claims the right to reproduce published works as part of the whole in printed or electronic formats.

The book review editor will approach potential reviewers in many cases,
but others are welcome to indicate their interest in doing a particular review.

The guidelines for articles apply generally for book reviews.
Please submit reviews on a IBM-Dos compatible computer disk. Include a printout if possible
for initial review. Single-spaced printouts are preferred.

JWHA Newsletter

The JWHA Newsletter is published several times during the year as needed. Submissions and news items may be forwarded to the Newsletter Editor.


SPECIAL ISSUE OF THE JWHA JOURNAL
NAUVOO 2002 PRESENTATIONS

    Order your copy of the 2002 today. This special issue Nauvoo Edition of the JWHA Journal contains transcripts of most of the presentations and comments given at the JWHA Nauvoo 2002 Annual Meeting, has been published in addition to the regular JWHA Journal that each member normally receives as a membership benefit.
    For the first time, a special issue of the JWHA Journal will include a CD-Rom recording of two sessions: "The Singing Saints-A Festival of Hymns and History," produced by Richard Clothier for the Sunday closing session, and D. Michael Quinn's address, "National Culture, Personality, and Theocracy in the Early Mormon Culture or Violence." Quinn is the Beinecke Senior Fellow at Yale University, 2002-2003. Most CD players will be able to play the Festival portion of the recording. Quinn's presentation, on an MP3 file, can be heard by playing the CD on a computer.
    Volumes, including the enhanced CD, sell for $25, until they are all gone.
