    Forgiving and Renewing Lord

Lord, You have examined us and You know us. You know everything we do. You understand our thoughts. You see us whether we are working or resting. You know all our actions. Forgiving Lord, You are so patient with us. Some lessons we have to learn over and over. And forgiveness is one of those lessons. We often forget your words and example, and when we leave you out of our lives, We find it hard to forgive. Merciful Lord, forgive us, for those times when differences among members of our church community result in misunderstanding, isolation and judgement. Teach us today how much we need to be forgiven, so we will more readily forgive each other. Renewing Lord, forgive us, for those times when inter conflict cause us to deny our own sense of self worth, and hold back the willing exercise of our gifts. We are often reluctant to reach out, as you seek to bless others through us. Compassionate Lord, we welcome Your Spirit, which seeks to make us whole, and invites us all to become one in You. Psalm 139; Pat Horton, Images of Peace; Judd, Prayers and Readings for Worship, "You Know Me, Lord."
